Strength and benefits of acrylic windows versus traditional glass windows
The strength of acrylic far surpasses that of its glass counterpart, it is 17 times stronger than glass! While glass has the tendency to shatter which can be costly to repair and time consuming to clean, acrylic on the other hand isn’t as shatter prone and does have some flex in it so that it takes greater force to break. Although normal cleaners containing ammonia cannot be used there is a wide variety of non ammonia based cleaners that the acrylic installers can recommend. Acrylic windows are mounted on the inside which decreases the amount of fogging and icing during winter months.
